TEACHERS (3-6 year olds)

Megan C.

My name is Megan Campbell and I am so thrilled to be part of the Discovery team. My passion for teaching has been life long but it wasn’t until I found and fell in love with the Montessori Method in 2010 that I found my educational calling. So, in 2013 I began my journey towards becoming Montessori certified at the Montessori Teacher Training Institute in Clemson, SC. Since receiving my training I have helped guide children in the 3-6 year old classroom by encouraging their independence, strengthening their self confidence and creating a classroom community of kindness and respect for one another.

When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me trying to keep up with my son River and spending time outdoors in the garden or on the trails with my family.  I look forward to getting to know you all and cheers to the school year. 

Megan B.

I’m Ms. Megan.  Last summer my wife and I moved our tiny house from Wisconsin to Asheville.  I love rock climbing and being outside, so Asheville felt like home right away.  I also love to sew, make jewelry, and do anything creative.

I have always loved teaching, but it took me a while to find out that my favorite age group to teach is preschool.  I got my education degree for K-12 and started off teaching 4th grade in a public school.  After that, I taught preschool for the first time and I fell in love!  Since moving to Asheville, I’ve been searching for a preschool that aligns with my values and I was so excited to find Discovery Montessori.  I did my training with the lead Montessori teacher here at Discovery and I’ve learned a lot since starting at Discovery in February, 2023.  I am currently the lead teacher in the Daffodils classroom and I’m having so much fun being able to do my passion everyday!

Cleo Bove

Teacher Cleo began working at Discovery in July of 2022. After working primarily as a highschool teacher since graduating college they made the shift to preschool and have enjoyed it much more than ever expected. They love teaching this age because of the curiosity and resilience of their students. Montessori teachings and other alternative pedagogies have always been an interest of Cleo’s and it’s been very enlightening and exciting to get to learn and play while at work. They are currently working through the North American Montessori Center certification program, expecting to complete that early next year.  When they aren’t at work they enjoy designing and creating clothes, writing and reading poetry  and watching historical dramas with their cat.

 

Paige McElroy

My background is in mindfulness-based psychology.  I worked in the mental health field after graduating from The Evergreen State College in 2017.  Since I had my twin boys in 2020, I made a career change that combines my passions for emotional literacy, wellbeing and child development. I have been with Discovery since April 2022.

I have my Early Childhood Education certificate and my Montessori certification with the North American Montessori Center.  In my free time, I like to bake and hang out with my family, two bunnies, and four chickens.  I enjoy reading, being outside in all weather, and yoga.

Kerry Bates

My name is Kerry Bates and I have been with Discovery Montessori since 2018.   I have my Montessori certification through North American Montessori. My son attended Discovery Montessori and I am a teacher in one of the 3-6 classrooms.  I love working with children and fueling their creativity and fostering their independence. When I’m not in the classroom, I am spending time with my family or at library finding a good book.  I absolutely love my job and working with kids is truly my passion.
